Playwright provided end-to-end browser automation testing for Conclave and Foundry. The tests verified complete user workflows — from login through feature interaction to expected UI state — across real browser engines rather than simulated DOM environments.
2 / Cross-Browser Verification
Running tests across Chromium, Firefox, and WebKit ensured that React components rendered correctly across browser engines. This was particularly important for features that relied on browser-specific APIs — WebSocket connections, local storage persistence, and CSS rendering differences.
3 / Network Mocking
Playwright's network interception capabilities allowed mocking API responses during tests, isolating frontend behavior from backend availability. This made tests deterministic — they verified UI logic without depending on running backend services — though it also meant the tests could not catch integration issues between frontend and backend.
